Mr. Davis is a native of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He is both a retired noncommissioned officer in the Military Police Corps and a retired Detective Sergeant from the Phelps County (MO) Sheriff's Department. His background is both varied and diverse.
While in the military he has performed a myriad of duties such as Patrolman, Traffic Accident Investigator, Desk Sergeant, Military Police Investigator, Physical Security Investigator, Protective Services Agent and Physical Security Coordinator for the V Corps Headquarters. Operational assignments have taken Sergeant Davis throughout the United States, Europe, Cuba and the Far East.
After retiring he continued his law enforcement career in the Rolla (MO) Police Department and the Phelps County (MO) Sheriff's Department. His duties included Senior Patrol Officer, Detective Sergeant, Division Commander of the Special Operations Division, which includes the Criminal Investigations Unit, the Sex Offenders Unit, and the Interdiction Unit. His other duties included Evidence Technician, SWAT Operator, Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, Investigator for the South Central Missouri Major Case Squad, Liaison for the Lambert DEA Task Force 33, and the ATF Rural Crimes Task Force.
Mr. Davis' education includes graduation from the Missouri Southern State College Police Academy and a Bachelor of Science.
Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Central Texas College. His technical education and training include numerous crisis and hostage negotiations courses, counter terrorism, traffic accident investigations, advanced evidence technician courses, and advanced interviewing and interrogation courses. In addition to his technical training, Mr. Davis has also attended more than thirty weeks of basic and advanced leadership development and management courses.
In his 38 years of military and civilian law enforcement, Mr. Davis has served as a member of a crisis response team and has assisted and negotiated hundreds of hostage, barricade suspects and potential suicide incidents. In addition to his practical experience, Mr. Davis has written a number of articles which have been published in local Law Enforcement Journals. He has also written a number of crisis response plans, and has planned, executed and supervised major crisis response training for both military and civilian agencies.
He is a member of the Missouri Association of Crisis Negotiators, the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators, the International Association of Evidence and Property Handlers, the National Tactical Officers Association, and the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.
Mr. Davis currently serves as the Coroner for the Phelps County Coroner's Office, Missouri.
