Host Requirements
While Crisis Systems Management have partnered with many excellent academies and institutions for crisis negotiation over the years, the majority of our courses are conducted at police departments and military units around the United States. These partnerships have allowed us to bring training to the far reaches of the country including the U.S. territories of Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. By traveling to host agencies, students are able to attend with lower travel costs, or in most cases, free of travel costs.
Host agencies are very important to our business and as a reward for their hospitality, we offer two free seats for every ten paid enrollments for a maximum number of five free seats per class – that is a savings of $2,745 in tuition for a 40-hour course!
All that is required to host a course is climate-controlled training space with audio/visual capabilities for up 34 people, access to restrooms, ample free parking, assistance with getting the word out and a point of contact to coordinate logistics.
Once you have selected a CSM course and we have agreed upon dates, we will draft and sign a course agreement, create a professional flyer, list the course on our website and then work together to achieve the minimum number (22) of paid registrants. As we get closer to the course dates, we will connect you to your instructors and give you information about the shipment of course materials and equipment so you can be prepared to receive it.
Crisis Systems Management will also keep you apprised of the number of registrants so you can plan how you will use your free seats.
We provide student manuals or handouts for every crisis negotiation course, administrative supplies (name tents, sign-in rosters and course evaluations) and equipment/supplies for practical exercises. If during the practical exercises in the crisis/hostage courses, teams would like to use their command vehicles or equipment – they are encouraged to do so.
CSM is insured and we are happy to sign hold-harmless agreements with the host agency, list host agencies as an added beneficiary or provide proof of insurance. Crisis Systems Management is not responsible however, for damage to specialized agency equipment voluntarily used by teams during practical exercises.
For the purposes of grant applications and continuing education credit, Crisis Systems Management is happy to provide instructor qualifications, past performance history, competitive bids and full lesson plans.
