Master Police Officer George Ireland started with the King County Sheriff's Office in 2000. He is proud to have spent his career as a patrol officer, working in both the unincorporated county and the department's contract cities throughout the Seattle area. He is currently assigned to the City of SeaTac. He is a Field Training Officer who has mentored dozens of new deputies in all phases of the program. He spent several years as field instructor in Defensive Tactics, has taught Care Under Fire and is a trainer for the county Crisis Intervention course.
George has been on the KCSO Crisis Negotiation Team for seven years and is one of two Team Leaders. His unit responds to barricaded subjects, crisis calls and warrant missions throughout Washington's largest county on a monthly basis.
George has taught crisis negotiation-related topics around the country as well as run scenario-driven training in various environments and presented at regional negotiation association conferences. He is a strong advocate for the field of crisis negotiation and has developed materials currently in use by various teams around the country. |
